May 3 & 4 Sat Sun	Swordwork	Queen of Apostles School, 10 Thuruna St Stafford	A community-organised event with local HEMAists exploring and sharing techniques and research from their various areas of study. Some mini tournaments based on the presentations may be held also.
May 10 Saturday	Multicultural Taste of the World Festival	7^th Brigade Park Chermside Cnr Newman Rd & Delaware St	BSIS will be doing a short display. We will do some practice in footwork beforehand, so you get a feel for it. The more people we have the more we can show off a range of things, any level of experience is fine.
May 17 Saturday	Gold Coast Longsword Development Cup	Men’s Shed Labrador, 57 Billington St, Labrador	Oh no, same day as Briscon! ☹ A beginner-friendly longsword competition.
May 17 & 18 Sat Sun	BrisCon	Mt Gravatt Showgrounds 1644 Logan Rd, Mt Gravatt	We set up camp for the weekend at a table-top gaming convention. We have a big area roped off and we can fill the day with whatever HEMA thing we want, fencing, learning from each other, a low-key King of the Hill tournament. Open to all HEMA clubs.
May 21 Wednesday	Towel Day	Our Stafford training hall	In tribute to the legendary author of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” we combine the spirit of Towel Day with the art of off-hand cape fencing.
May 24 & 25 Sat & Sun	Cut n’ Thrust Campaign	Hiker Brewing Company Salisbury	A 2-day tournament with Rapier and Dagger on Saturday and Longsword on Sunday.

July 11 to 13 Fri Sat Sun	Abbey Medieval Festival	Abbeystowe, 530 Pumicestone Rd, Elimbah	We have no presence at this event, but it can be a fun day out
August 13 Wednesday	Combat only, no lessons	Our Stafford training hall	It’s the Ekka holiday, so we to give you an easier choice, we don’t hold scheduled classes but instead you can have a night of combat or workshopping.
Aug 23 Saturday 8am – 6:30pm	Carranza Cup BSIS runs this event	Our Stafford training hall	This is an opportunity for relatively inexperienced fencers to gain tournament experience. Several of Queensland’s top HEMA fencers are invited to participate as “Boss Fighters”, and every competitor is guaranteed at least one Boss Fight, giving them the opportunity to try their skills against the very best. Boss Fighters are not eligible to win the tournament. If you are not entering, please help by volunteering if you have time available.
Aug 24 Sun 9am-2pm	Backyard Bonanza (BYB)	McPherson Park 146 Denham Street, Bracken Ridge	The Bracken Ridge lions throw a big event and we set up camp, fence each other, teach MANY people the basics (mainly kids) and put on a demo at the stage. Please come for whatever time you have spare.

Sept 17 Wed	Walk like a pirate	Training hall	Footwork fun, in recognition of 19^th Sept Talk Like a Pirate Day… there will cannonballs to evade as you sail you way to the treasure.

Oct 29 Wednesday	Pumpkin Carving	Our Stafford training hall	We will be taking the tips off our BLUNT rapiers and practicing our aim on pumpkins! Don’t miss it, this is both super fun and very good training. Don’t bring sharps.
